Dr. Amit Javed has acquired advanced laparoscopic skills and performs most of his surgery laparoscopically. He has been invited at various international and national meetings of repute to demonstrate his laparoscopic surgery techniques. He has pioneered various minimally invasive techniques which have been published in international journals. He was the first to report laparoscopic surgery for the management of corrosive strictures of the esophagus by using the stomach conduit and the colon conduit. He also described minimally invasive technique for the management of gastric trichobezoar. He also reported a novel laparoscopic technique for the management of end-stage achalasia cardia patients. He has one of the largest experiences of laparoscopically managing gall bladder cancer. He has considerable experience in performing complex laparoscopic surgeries for cancer including laparoscopic Whipples pancreaticoduodenectomy (in press) and laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (for cancer of the pancreas), thoracolaparoscopic esophagectomy (for esophageal cancer), laparoscopic radical gastrectomy (for stomach cancer), laparoscopic hepatectomy (for liver cancer), laparoscopic colectomy (for colon cancer), and laparoscopic anterior resection/abdominoperineal resection (for rectal cancer). He does all types of bariatric surgeries laparoscopically. Recently he has published one of the largest series of laparoscopic surgery for the management of post-cholecystectomy bile duct stricture. In addition he performs laparoscopic surgeries for achalasia cardia, GERD and hiatus hernia, diaphragmatic hernia and eventeration, gall bladder stones, CBD stones, choledochal cyst, small bowel tumors, rectal prolapse etc.
